Summary: technological advancements such as X-Guide have been promoted as groundbreaking tools for improving precision and predictability in implantology. However, the practical benefits of such innovations remain debatable, particularly when evaluated by experienced surgeons with well- established workflows and successful long-term outcomes using free-hand techniques. This study aims to assess the practicability of X-Guide and tries to summarize positives and negatives concepts of this technology under a practical look. The findings highlight the importance of critically assessing the necessity and applicability of emerging technologies. For experienced surgeons, innovation should align with practical improvements in efficiency and outcomes, rather than replacing time-tested expertise.
